7 cleansers for acne-prone skin! Makeup Remover for Sensitive Skin

acne skin

Adult acne is caused by lack of sleep, poor nutrition, and stress. In the season when skin tone fluctuates easily, it is easy to have partially dry skin on the cheeks while the T-zone is oily.

In this article, Shoko Miyaji, a beauty expert, recommends a makeup remover and cleanser for such skin. Let's take a look at the other purposes of cleansing and the causes of acne to find the right cleanser for your skin!

Purpose of cleansing

The purpose of cleansing is to remove makeup, excess sebum, and grease that covers the surface of the skin along with dust in the air. If this is not done, the dirt will remain in the pores, causing them to open up and even lead to acne.

Cleansing products contain surfactants to make it easier for makeup dirt and sebum to mix with water and be washed away.

Surfactants may sound bad for the skin, but they are included because they are necessary to remove makeup properly.

Once the cleanser is blended with the makeup and the dirt is lifted off, quickly wash it off with lukewarm water. However, if you massage it off, you may wash away the sebum that your skin needs, causing it to dry out. Remove your makeup quickly and thoroughly.

Causes of Pimples

Acne on the face occurs when sebum accumulates in the pores and is blocked by keratin plugs. Therefore, if your skin is dry or rough and you neglect daily cleansing, you will end up with pimples.

There are two main causes of sebum accumulation in the pores: 1. excessive sebum secretion

Everyone may have experienced this phenomenon during puberty due to the increased secretion of sebum.

In adults, excessive sebum production is caused by stress, lack of sleep, imbalance of female hormones, and unbalanced diet.

Hyperkeratosis, a thickening of the keratin

Hyperkeratosis is the thickening of the keratinous layer of the skin due to the slowing down of skin turnover and the deterioration of the skin's barrier function as a result of aging.

As a result, sebum tends to accumulate in the pores.

This is caused by the lack of turnover due to sun exposure and unbalanced diet, but there is one more thing that can cause hyperkeratosis with wrong skin care.

When too much of the skin's sebum is washed away by cleansing and face washing, the skin's barrier function is compromised and the skin thickens its keratin to protect it from external stimuli. Also, if the skin is dry and insufficiently moisturized, the dead skin cells will not peel off and become hard, causing dullness.

How to choose a cleanser for acne-prone skin

Here are some tips on how to choose a cleanser for acne-prone skin.

There are four main types of cleansers, and the more to the right, the stronger the cleansing power. Also, the amount of surfactant is higher, but it can remove makeup and dirt well.

Latex type < Cream type < Gel type < Oil type

  • Natural makeup and no makeup -
If you are wearing only sunscreen that can be removed with soap, or if you have no makeup on, use the milky lotion type or cream type to gently remove sebum without irritating your skin.
  • When wearing heavy makeup -
If you are wearing heavy makeup such as foundation, lipstick, mascara, etc., use a gel or oil type to lift the makeup and gently wash off the sebum.

People with acne-prone skin especially want to avoid irritation, so it is important to quickly rinse off with lukewarm water once the dirt is lifted.

Zero Time Cleansing (LAUDi)

Contains three oils high in oleic acid, which is effective in oxidation, hybrid safflower, Picual olive, and hydrolyzed rice bran.

The oil cleanser tends to lose its freshness due to oxidation, but it can be cleansed with a high level of freshness at the time of use. Cleansing and skin care regimen

For acne-prone skin, scrubbing and irritating the skin is strictly prohibited as it is hard on the skin.

Use cleansing to gently wash away makeup and blackheads that have hardened due to oxidation of excess sebum.

After moisturizing and tightening the skin with lotion, blend in a serum to moisturize the skin, and the skin will try to regain its normal turnover. Wipe-off cleansers and toners should be avoided while you have acne, as they are irritating.

  1. Cleansing Procedure
  2. Take a small amount of cleanser and blend it into the skin to lift out makeup and sebum.
  3. Carefully apply to lips and eye area where makeup stains are likely to remain. For the eye area, use a cotton swab to lift off the makeup that tends to remain around the eyes.
  4. Rinse well with lukewarm water.

How was it? Even with acne-prone skin, you want to go out every day with makeup. In such cases, the burden on the skin will be lessened if you pay a little attention to the cleansing and skin care methods. Please find a cleanser that suits your skin condition according to your daily makeup.
