It's the time of the year when we have to wear masks every day. There are many people who are concerned about their foundation falling off due to sweat, but when you wear a mask, it is even more of a concern.
In such a case, rather than repeatedly reapplying makeup that inevitably falls off, I recommend switching to a "no foundation" look and focusing on a base makeup that won't fall off.
For this article, we asked makeup artist Aya Ogasawara to give us some tips on makeup without foundation for those who don't want to worry about their makeup falling off.
How can I make my skin look beautiful without foundation?
Just because you're wearing no foundation doesn't mean that you have to do anything at all, it can just make you look lazy. It would be nice if your skin looked good without doing anything, but there are many people who suffer from partial dark circles and dullness.
The ideal skin is one that partially covers only the areas of concern and looks beautiful even with no foundation.
To achieve this, what you need to do is to use a good concealer that will at least partially cover the areas you are worried about. If you have dark circles, your whole face will look tired and dark, so make sure to cover them up with concealer.
Let's take a look at how to create a base makeup that incorporates partial concealer and finishes with no foundation.
Concealer technique for partial coverage
Concealers have high coverage and thick textures. Be conscious of applying only what you need to where you need it.
If you apply concealer over a large area, there is no point in using no foundation in the end, so be careful about the amount and the area you apply it.
1: For dark circles under the eyes, only the bare minimum line.
When concealing dark circles, apply only to the "triangle zone" under the eyes. Spreading the product over a large area will make it look thicker and more prone to breakage.
In particular, you want to cover the vertical lines under the eyes as shown in the image. Put the concealer on this area first, and apply it in a way that stretches it into a triangular zone.
2: Concealer on the creases of the eyes as well.
The creases of the eyes are often dull, so apply concealer here as well. If the creases of your eyes remain dark and dull, your entire face will look darker.
3: Apply partially to the crease of the nose and other areas of concern.
Once you have completed the eye area, apply concealer to the areas you are concerned about.
Especially on the sides of the nose, it is recommended to lighten the color to make the whole face look darker. Be careful not to apply too much.
After covering the areas of concern with concealer, apply face powder to complete the look.
If you are concerned about the overall dullness of your skin, it is also recommended to use a primer with a control color effect that can remove dullness before the concealer. By using such an item, you can expect to make your skin look so beautiful that you don't need foundation even with no foundation.
